Wild Oak Cafe

(Grade B+) Very unique setting, used to be a service station in the middle of houses in the woodsy area of Pasadena/Glendale. The main dishes were very good, but the small stuff like croissants etc seemed to be pre-made, that's why I gave it 4 stars, other than that it would be 5 for sure. Service Dine in Meal type Brunch Price per person $10–20

Shogun Restaurant

(Grade A) Coming here for Sushi lately. The sushi area is always open for immediate seating. The 2 chefs are in front of you paying careful attention and giving you the order immediately and the quality is much better than I expected. Kudos. These were a good combination, my guests liked it too
Alexander’s Steakhouse

Alexander’s Steakhouse

(Grade C+) Like my dad used to say, "You can do better..." We were a bit disappointed. I grill meats fairly regularly and cut/clean my own meats, so I'm fairly experienced in meats, grades & cuts. I have to say though, the Organic Green Salad & the small breads were amazing. The bread came with 3 types of butter, one was in a bone, in the place of the bone marrow. They did offer a complimentary refill for the bread which we declined because we wanted to save our appetite for the steak. So we ordered the Kansas City Strip and…
Wide Eyes Open Palms

Wide Eyes Open Palms

(Grade A+) A constant A+, the chef is a magician, that's all I should say. Service and kind hosts just make you want to order more. Wow, food here is so good, got a lot more than I could eat because I was curious. The cocotte was so good, I had to go back the next morning and took 2 people with us. Excellent coffee, the strawberry bread pudding (yumm) and apricot scone, amazing! The Ricotta and Peach on awesome Toast, good thing is available every day. The second day there was a Biscuit and eggs special, I wish was…

The Palace Grill

The Palace Grill

(Grade A) A all the way. Surprisingly amazing food. We got a Pasta Jambalaya and aLake Superior White fish that was a special, but were simply amazing. Update: Came back, remembered what we got last time and ordered the same. Wow! Even better than I remembered. Pasta Jambalaya (I think) it was out of this world

Gordon Ramsay Steak

(Grade C+) Service was great, meat was tender, however at $70 I expected a bit more meat based on the displayed Wagyu Ribeye Cap steak on their steak display. Also it was undercooked on the inside and overcooked on the outside. The Moscow Mule that they brought was TERRIBLE! Just took 2 sips and left it as is, what a waste of the $18 they charge for it. I don't think I will return, sorry Gordon.
Shiro

Shiro

(Grade A+) Another restaurant that deserves an A+ from me. The whole catfish is out of this world. It's deep fried with Ginger pieces in between all the cuts. It's perfection. Been there twice within 8 days.

Mizlala

(Grade A-) Another one that deserves an A+ but attitudes are a bit dry and the streak kebab is sub par, so just an A- for that. Food tastes great with the right amount of spices. The Halloumi cheese is a bit expensive but worth it, it comes flambe in a cast iron pan, and it's delicious. The Yogurt Pana cotta is out if this world most of the time, i come mainly for this. The Babaghanouj, Mouhammara and the all the $4 plates are so little, it's just not worth it. Fried chicken is good, short rib tajine is…
